Caitlin Blunnie, also known as Liberal Jane, is a queer reproductive justice artivist living in the DC-area.

Caitlin brings nearly a decade of experience working in the feminist movement. In Washington, D.C., Caitlin has organized and fought for reproductive rights, queer liberation and more. As an activist, she started Liberal Jane as a way to continue the fight for equality online.

Over the last seven years, Liberal Jane has become a trusted voice in the online feminist space. She is known for her educational content, bold messaging and wildly colorful graphics and aesthetic.

BFR sits down with content creator, illustrator, artist, and activist Caitlin Blunnie to talk about combining art with Reproductive Justice! Caitlin also talks about how white people can take up RJ work without taking over the movement or misusing terms as well as how to deal with burnout and feelings of inadequacy as a creator.

Caitlin Blunnie started publishing her art as @liberaljane on Instagram in 2016. She has since gained a huge following by creating art that serves as (literally) colorful social commentary on issues of bodily autonomy such as abortion rights, queer liberation, and justice for survivors of sexual trauma.
